The Road Department is located on Klein Street. The Department is comprised of four full-time employees. They maintain approximately 33 miles of Township roads. This Department is responsible for road construction, storm sewer work, and winter snow and ice removal. Also the Department is under contract with PennDot for winter maintenance on three miles of state road in Chippewa Township.
The Chippewa Road Department will pick up leaves along with brush to be chipped from the FIRST MONDAY IN APRIL through the FIRST FRIDAY IN NOVEMBER. Please have the brush and leaves at the curb and have the leaves in biodegradable bags that can be purchased at local stores. A garbage hauler will also be scheduled to pick up leaves at various times during the first three weeks of November. The exact dates for those pick-ups will be listed on the Township web site and in our newsletters in the fall.
